On a trip to
Cobbitty Markets last year, my mum bought me this set of
Alfred Meakin dinner plates and I love them very much. Here it is with my
Mikasa bowl to serve my homemade clam chowder. Usually I prefer more bold retro/mod designs but the intricate detail of the filigree here really took my fancy. It takes me back to a time when the world was going at a slower pace, when meal times were filled with romance and people were more kind to each other. I guess that's why I love old things, they have their charm and history.
